We applied for Isabella's British Citizenship two weeks ago and it arrived today! How quick was that! We did use a checking service but was told that it was currently taking 7 months! So she is now officially a UK citizen and Isabella Yi Ting Wong.
I will get a passport application form this week and get some passport pictures done so we can get her passport. That makes life so much easier for our trip in February! It will be easier to get Visa's and travel to Thailand and Vietnam on a British rather than Chinese passport.
Now if Darlington has got Hague and article 17c sorted properly we would not of had to do this and she would of automatically become a UK citizen in China on completion of the adoption! But the most important thing is that she is our daughter, and we have legally adopted her!
I have also started sewing the single bed quilt. I can only do it in the evening as normally when she naps I cook, and do chores I cannot do when she is awake ( such as ironing!). Here is a sample block I made just to make sure it worked! I have only sewn 4, but the cream fabric has only just arrived!! Only another 50 to go! But I don't think we will ever get her out of our bed and into the cot let alone a big bed!
