Catch up blog!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone had a happy new year. This is always a time of reflection. Last year was one of the best and also one of the hardest! After the December 07 referrals we were the next expedited group. What we didn't anticipate that the CCAA would break all records and not do any expedited referrals for 6 months. Waiting from January to June at every referral batch was such a hard emotional roller coaster, and it became harder every month we were missed. And finally month 6 in June, we heard that yes we had a daughter. And what an incredible experience that has been. I cant describe how beautiful Isabella is not just in looks (she is beautiful!) but in personality. She can be a challenge and is very stubborn just like me, but is so funny, loving and adorable. Being a Ma Ma is amazing and I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to be Isabella's mother.

I also do appreciate that we had the opportunity to be expedited and cannot every repay BLAS who put our case forward to the CCAA to get our dossier recognised. I know the wait is hard and uncertain, but I truly believe the CCAA when they say that everyone will eventually get their child. And it is so true, as soon as you see the photograph of your baby, every second of the wait becomes so worth while.

We had a quiet new years eve, and on new years day we met up with the the UK Wong clan and took the children to our gym where they all went swimming and had a lovely time running wild in the play room. Terry and his Dad took them swimming, I was still feeling unwell from my bout of Flu so sat having coffee with my MIL! They also serve reasonable food so we all had lunch there as well. Here is a picture of the young Wong's! We were sitting in the gym foyer waiting for hubby and his dad, as we had driven in two cars.

My Christmas present to myself arrived after Christmas. I had to pay import tax ( luckily not much and still cheaper than buying them in the UK!!!!) arrived. Of course Ms Wong had to try them on! On the other foot she has a pair of trainers 5 sizes too large which she was given for Christmas. This is a girl who loves shoes ( just like Ma Ma!!!!!).

Isabella has also recently got a thing about jewelery, and pinches all Ma Ma's bracelets! Luckily her auntie bought her a necklace and bracelets for Christmas!!!! Which came in a bag which Isabella uses a handbag and takes it everywhere! Yep to the bathroom and to bed! The contents???? Money! Ma Ma's money! She goes into my jeans pockets and takes out all the coins and puts them in her bag!!!!!! Do you think she is a future banker or accountant!

Also today my baby is 19 months old!!!!! And is was around a year ago her file was sent to the CCAA for adoption. She is growing up so quickly its scary!!! Over Christmas she decided she didn't want to be in nappies any more and wanted to use potty all the time!! Some days she is dry all day, and other times she has a few damp pull ups! But its at night she has the problem as she wakes up in the middle of the night wanting to go to the toilet! I hear a voice calling out Ma Ma, Poo Poo!!!!!! She has regressed a little, so we will just let her potty train in her own time.

On Saturday we also had our 6 month review ( 3 weeks early!). We are just waiting for our report and then we will get it translated and send it to our UK government department to forward onto the CCAA. OMG can you believe its almost 6 months!!!!!!!!

Great post Suzanne, so nice to hear how you all are doing...which is fantastic. Will just turned 3 and isn't potty trained yet...he really isn't ready, so we'll see maybe in 2 or 3 months. I agree...last year for us was wonderful but hard too. Here's to a New Year! Hope it brings you happiness and health!

Thanks Gail. One of our relatives is only just potty trained at 3 1/2! It must be a Chinese boy thing! Isabella is just wants to be a big girl far to quickly! But I think we have regressed a little and it will be a while before she is fully potty trained. Hopefully when the weather is warmer! And trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night are not so cold!

We are both so lucky to have our children home and in their forever families. Will is an amazing little boy.
