Bedroom transition

As with a lot of adopted children, Isabella's main anxiety's in the early stages were at night time. Hence we gave up on the cot and let her co-sleep with us for about 4 months until she felt secure, and then put her into her own bed in the corner of our room. But it was hard work getting her confident enough to go to sleep without me cuddling her to sleep or screaming if she woke up until I cuddled her again.

But now after nearly 3 months of sleeping by herself in her own bed. I feel that its time to start the transition to move her into her own bedroom, espcially as the evenings are now lighter. In preparation for that Ma Ma has put up some bright alphabet fairly lights on the wall! And bought her a bed side light, as Isabella needs lights on when she is going to sleep! She is very excited and loves them saying they are 'pretty pretty'!

So far she has now slept in her own room for her lunchtime naps for a week! It does take her longer to go to sleep and she often 'drops' her toy on the floor so I go back into the room! But its progress. Now I just need to build her confidence up for a little while before the big transfer! I have given her a choice a couple of nights but she wants to still sleep in Ma Ma and Ba Ba's room.

Any tips of advise from those who have BTDT please leave a comment! But I believe the time is right and taking it slowly is the key with Isabella.

My purse also miraculously was found ( they didn't know where!) and handed in to the gym reception two days after it was stolen! Nothing was taken, but then there was no money or credit cards just loyalty store cars, library card, Maestro card and driving licence, so it wasnt really of use to anyone. I didn't get the message until Saturday! And by then all my replacement cards and new driving licence had been re issued and delivered!

Also my marathon training has come to a halt. I was running on Thursday and suddenly my calf muscle became tight and hurt. I knew if I kept on running I would of damaged the muscle so stopped and did lots of stretching. I think this occured because of the blisters I got last weekend. Because they were still a little painful I must of changed my running gait and put pressure on my calf muscle.

I trained for the marathon two years ago and pulled my calf muscle 1/2 way through and couldn't run the entire course ( although I did complete it!). So this is my worst nightmare 3 weeks before the event! I was suppose to do my final 20-22 mile long run today! Before tapering down, but instead went for a sports massage. It was very painful, and not for the faint hearted. But he says its not too bad and will be fine for the marathon! It hurts like mad now, but that is after an hours treatment.

I am just going to take it easy now and do some shorter runs and cross training to keep fit before the big event. I might go for a further massage next week if the muscle is still tight. Keep everything crossed for me.

The guy was very impressed with my legs, sadly just my muscles! I ran when I was a child at school and now I have been running for a while I have very shaped, defined legs and muscles especially my calf muscles!. He is also a athletic coach and told me that some of his puplis would be envious of my legs. But not really a complement though!

We have also nearly reached our fundraising target, but still would love to raise as much money as possible. We also had a pair of designer shoes donated which are currently listed on eBay. Thanks everyone people have been so generous. It makes all the pain and training worthwhile and we are so pleased to be able to help those children still in China.
