Glasses fiasco!

Isabella still has a runny nose and cough but is back to her usual self, so hopefully it will clear up soon. So last week returned to a little normality! We did our mid week runs and to the toddler groups both at the library and the toddler gym which she loves! Its wonderful to see how much her confidence has grown as she is quite happy to go to the front of the group in the library sessions and run around by herself at the toddler gym. She is also interacting and playing really well with other children. This will help her when she starts at the nursery when I return to work next year! Gulp!

On Saturday Ba Ba had his 1:1 and took Isabella to buy the Christmas tree! So its up and decorated but the lights didn't work! So I had to buy some new ones on Monday which are more energy efficient LED and look very pretty! Isabella wasn't really that impressed but likes to take the bauble's off the bottom and hand them to me! The kittens are now fully grown cats and are to big to climb it ( 1.5 metre tree), so just sit looking at it! I will take some pictures of Isabella by the tree. It could be the first one? She would of been 6 months old last Christmas and it really isnt celebrated much in China.

On Sunday the weather was cold but beautiful and sunny, so we did a long run. The ground was icy in places and quite slippery so we just took it easy. We ran for 14 miles but hubby struggled after 12 ( yes he has just run two 1/2 marathons!) and Isabella at 12 miles was hungry and bored, and didn't want the food that I had brought! So we ran to a city farm. She so loves animals and enjoyed it so much plus there was a nice cafe where we had lunch. All the sausages were made on the farm. And Isabella soon demolished a sausage sandwich! Ba Ba didn't do too badly on the ribs! And Ma Ma who needed carbs had a baked potato! But after a long run it was yummy! And she had such a nice time.

Our beautiful daughter continues to amaze us. She is beginning to speak so much now, she still says all the animal names in Cantonese! But speaks a lot of English. Sometimes with a very bad Chinese pronunciation. Hopefully it will get better, as I spend a lot of time repeating things to her! But if not we can always get her refereed to a speech therapist when she is older.

And the glasses fiasco! I had a new pair of glasses made in Hong Kong. And when I was having my morning shower ( Isabella always waits outside and watches me!), in seconds of not watching her ( washing my hair!) she got hold of my glasses which she knows she is not allowed to touch and snapped them. Yep beyond repair! After a panic! And nearly a dash to the opticians! I remembered the lenses were fine its just the frame so as they are a common brand of glasses ( Oakley) I managed to buy a new frame online! Its easy to fit in the lenses and is a fraction of the cost of a complete new pair of glasses! If they need to be adjusted I will take them to an optician! We are also going to Asia again in February so I will take my presciption and get a back up pair! ( wearing my old glasses and old prescription at the moment!)as they are so much cheaper in Asia than the UK.
