Catch up blog!

Isabella recovered from her cold and bug, and then went down with another cold and cough which she gave to me:) Poor Isabella was worse poor thing and we had a few nights of poor sleep where she was so snuffled up and coughing so much. But is now getting better :). I know that its taking her to the toddler groups that is doing it as she is being exposed to new virus's. But her immunity will get better!

So last week was fairly quiet. We didn't go out running during the week as it wouldn't of been wise to drag her around the park being so unwell, and Ma Ma wasn't really feeling up to it!. But it was a week where we had arranged to have lots of visitors and catch up with people which worked quite well. On Wednesday a friend came for coffee and Friday I took Isabella to my in laws for lunch and on Saturday/Sunday my sister and niece and nephew came over for the night. So she has had a lot of attention. And I have some lovely adult time as well:)

It also gave us the opportunity to explore some more indoor activities. Our local library do two toddler sessions per week for the under 3's. One is story and singing on a Tuesday, and the other just singing on Thursdays. They are only for 30 minutes and are quite packed ( they are free!). Isabella is still a little unsure! But the more we go, the more confident she will be. When she now goes to the toddler gym she just runs around for the entire time, to begin with she was the same and was glued to my side or wanted me beside her all the time. All these groups I hope will help her make the transition to nursery easier and its so good to get lots of stimulation.

I also finally received all the chapter and queries for my book, which has kept me quite busy. Things have been delayed so it wont be published in January as originally planned but hopefully it will be in the first part of next year. Luckily the queries were quite simple, however this is down to peoples good writing rather than my editing skills! Some chapter queries I returned to the authors and the rest I did. And there is now only one chapter to send back which I will do after the weekend.

Hubby and I were looking at the China photographs and video's rescued from my too expensive to repair laptop!. The changes in Isabella in 4 months are incredible.

This picture is very special. When we met Isabella she screamed and struggled but as soon as we left and got into the van she fell asleep in my arms. I remember really looking down and studying my daughter for the first time. It was a magical moment. I am so glad the photographs are saved, they truly are priceless.

We are nearly ready for Christmas. The cake is made and just needs icing this weekend. I have made two jars of mincemeat for the mince pies and have made and frozen the cranberry and orange sauce for X mas and boxing day, and ordered the goose for boxing day ( the in laws are coming over).

All the presents are bought, and most of the cards written! And overseas presents and cards posted. I will finish the cards this weekend and we will go and buy the tree and put the decorations up. I can imagine Ms Wong pulling everything off the tree. It was bad enough last year with the kittens who kept climbing up it! But I cant wait for our first Xmas together.

Marathon update
As Isabella was so unwell, .we had another restful week recovering from our colds/coughs and Terry and I took Isabella to the gym on Sunday where we took turns running on the treadmill whilst Isabella played in the playroom and had lunch.

Total running 10 Ks

But marathon training really starts 16 weeks ( January) before the event and as we are already running 1/2 marathon distance we are quite ahead, so missing a couple of weeks or scaling down wont be a problem.
