Birthday and holiday!!!!

Last week just flew by! I did my long run on Saturday as hubby had a half marathon on Sunday. As I am recovering from my cold, I wasn't sure how far I would run. And therefore did a very slow run, in which I stopped 3 times!!! But I ran just over 20.2miles! It was an abysmal time of 3 1/2 hours! But at this stage I am not too fussed about that, I am just pleased that despite not being 100% I could run that far!! Only another 6 miles on the day, which is less than 10 weeks. That's a scary thought!

Whilst I was pounding the London streets, hubby took Isabella swimming and for dim sum! But I wasn't home when they got back and Isabella didn't cope with this very well. She ran all over the house calling for me and then sat by the front door sobbing hysterically. Hubby managed to sit her on the sofa with him, so they could watch out of the window for Ma Ma coming home, and she was just so elated to see me. It reinforced that it was a good idea to extend my adoption leave for 12 months, but most importantly I hope this reinforced to Isabella that Ma Ma comes home!
She now goes into the gym creche for an hour every week and for the last two weeks has coped really well with being apart from me. So we will just take it very slowly.

We got up very early on Sunday, primarily because Isabella woke up before 6.00 am and started singing away to herself. There was no chance of her getting back to sleep so we all got up! But we did have to get up early anyway! We drove to Tunbridge Wells where hubby had entered for the very hilly 1/2 marathon. It also gave us chance to catch up with some friends! And turn it into a social event as we all had a very yummy lunch later! Hubby finished the course in 1 hour 59 minutes and 57 second. Just under the two hours, and he hates running hills so that's an excellent time. Also congratulations fo G and J who also did very well, and for arranging such a nice lunch.

My 1/2 marathon is in March, and I hope to run under 1 hour 59 even if it kills me :) just to equal and beat hubby's last two 1/2 marathon times which have both been 1 hour 59 minutes!! Last year I ran it in 2:01 and am a lot fitter this year so its possible! Here is Ms Wong waiting for her Ba Ba! We were watching all the other runners, and with hubby after the run. He looks good for just running 13.1 miles!

Its my birthday tomorrow! Not saying how old! I have nothing special planned just a normal Thursday where we will do a marathon training run with Isabella in the jogger pram and I hope hubby manages to get home at a reasonable time to cook me a nice dinner. On Saturday I am going to the cinema with two of my oldest friends for a girls night out! My sister niece and nephew are also coming down and my sister will meet us later for dinner. This is my first night out for 6 months I am so excited!! I intend to drink a few nice glasses of wine!

Next week we also fly to Thailand for a couple of days then onto Vietnam. A big sigh of relief our Vietnam visa's and passports were returned on Saturday morning! So next week I need to start packing! I have been fairly organised! Luckily Isabella is out of nappies! And just wears pull ups a night so that reduces the luggage! Also she is now off formula. But will probably pack some as I am not sure how nice the pasteurised milk is in Asia. I think from memory its not that nice!

We are taking the laptop so I hope to blog and show some nice pictures of Isabella in the sunshine! I so love Thai and Vietnamese food so cant wait for two weeks of all that yummy food.

we will take our running stuff but probably will only do some short runs just to try and keep fit. Luckily the schedule we are sort of following the long runs dont occur until the mid-end of March and as I already have run one 18 and one 20 mile run I should be able to get back on track.

Last weeks training - Week six of a 16 week programme

Mon Rest
Tue 1M jog, then 6 x 400m (or 2 mins) fast with 200m (or 90-sec) jog recoveries, then 1M jog ( on treadmill in gym)
Wed 2.5 miles in 23 minutes ( should of been 5!) with baby jogger
Thu 4 miles in 39:45 with baby jogger
Fri Rest
Sat Rest or 3M (approx 35 mins) easy
Sun 20.2 miles in 3 hours 30 minutes ( programme was for 12 miles)

So you can see with 4 runs per week it really is beginning to consume a lot of our time. But when I run with Isabella mid week we also end the run with something nice for her such as a visit to the city farm with lunch it the cafe or time in the park and playground.

I had to report to work a month after we came back from china while my husband stayed home with our daughter. She was only 14 months old. I will sneaky out of the house during her naps and come back a few hours later. We she saw me entering the house, I’ll get the biggest hugs ever, she will squeeze my arms so thigh and gave me the cheesiest smiles. For me that was worthless.

I love her cheesey smile on the last picture!

Have a great time visiting Asia!
