Just a quick update on our marathon training. I promise the next post will be all about Isabella! We are now on week 6 or our 16 week training schedule. Gulp, yes only 10 weeks left before the marathon and we will be in Vietnam for two weeks in Feb/March. Hence why we started training early!
WEEK FOUR
Mon Rest
Tue 3 miles with Isabella and baby jogger 28 minutes
Wed 2.5 miles with Isabella and baby jogger 24 minutes
Thu Missed training run
Fri Rest
Sat Rest or 3M (approx 35 mins) easy
Sun Ran 18 miles in 3hr 5 minutes ( 12 miles pushing baby jogger!). (Terry ran 15 miles to stop with Isabella as 15 miles is her maximum tolerance for the pram!)
During week four I also had some important book deadlines to meet. All of the 18 chapter proofs needed to all be corrected and returned. Plus the index. It was the index that took me a long, long time. And most nights as soon as Isabella was in bed I had dinner and then hid in the study working hard until Midnight or 01.00 am. Not surprisingly I then went down with a horrendous cold. Mmm burning the oil at both ends doesn't really work!
WEEK FIVE
Mon Rest
Tue
Wed
Thu
Fri
Sat
Sun 5 miles with Isabella ( and some snow!) 52 min
Week 5's training didn't really happen mainly due to my cold, and also the snow!I was coughing up some pretty yucky stuff! So on Sunday I decided any distance would be better than nothing. The schedule that we are following ( or not!) was a distance of 10 miles with the long run, however, I managed 18 miles the week before and was quite comfortable with the distance. Hubby did his 18 mile run on Sunday and Isabella and I met him later in one of the city farms for lunch!
Isabella has now done her creche introductions in our gym creche and coped well. Which means that I can leave her there for an hour a week whilst I run on the treadmill. It means that as my runs increase to 4 per week she doesn't get dragged out in the cold and rain every time ( although she does love the pram and going out in it).
We really would love to raise £1000 for hope4china and have achieved just over 40% of our total. Donations can be made online with any credit card or pay pal by clicking on our justgiving link. I have listed some more items on eBay to sell and this will hopefully boost our fundraising a little.
