Hubby is away at a conference for 3 days in Birmingham. Poor thing has four oral presentations to give, and spent a frantic weekend trying to get all his talks written and video clips working. He was so stressed :). Being a good wife, I even sat and listened to him with stop watch in hand (yawn, only kidding honey!). He will be back late Thursday night so it’s just me and the three kitties!
Sunday and Monday we saw some terrible weather storms in the UK, with huge gale force winds, pouring rain. It is terrible. Hopefully it will subside and clear up.
We are (or rather me!) am still decorating. Tonight I finished the new stair case which has been painted and varnished. And I re wallpapered one wall which our builder had to open up again to sort the piping out for our downstairs shower! I have filled in all the small holes and cracks (very old house with original lime stone plaster!) in the ground floor hallway, and this just needs to be sanded and painted. It will be quick to do and I will finish it all this weekend. Then we can hire a steam cleaner and arrange to get the carpets fitted in the loft bedroom, stairs and landing!!!!!! Back to normality, it is driving me insane!. I am nesting and need to get everything cleaned and back in order, but its taking ages with just me and working full time! I love decorating and am quite good ( my father is a painter and decorator so I have no excuse to do it badly!). But its taken so long, and this is the only time in my life that I have ever felt like hiring someone to do it for me. Or maybe I should have just invited my father and step mother up for a few day Ha Ha, and armed him with paintbrush when he arrived:)
As we are still pending baby Wongs referral and have no idea when this will happen, April, May, June or later who knows with the CCAA! In the interim I have booked to go to a Hepatology conference in April. Hubby was already going, but I have now registered. Its being held in Milan, and we will tag a couple of days onto the end and plan to head up to Lake Como. I havent had a vacation since September and any annual leave I have taken has been spent on the book or DIY. So we are looking forward to some good Italian food and wine and a couple of days to ourselves. And of course the conference!
