Its never going to end!

I don’t think this building work is ever going to end. Last night we woke up to water dripping through our bedroom ceiling. It’s coming from the new bathroom above. It’s now been painted and tiled! And the water is not from a visible place so it’s obviously coming from the internal pipe work from the radiator towel rail either behind the wall or under the floor!

We called the plumber who is going to try to come around tomorrow when we are running. But will access it through our bedroom ceiling. This means patching it with plasterboard and re plastering over it!!!!!!! So more decorating and more mess. See it really is never going to end. This will be the third time the plumber has had to come back to fix problems that have arisen. A big letter of complaint will be heading to the loft company soon! As we found out last week that we also have to break into a wall that’s been re-plastered to fix some pipe work for the downstairs shower at some stage!

But I will try not to be too pessimistic as I have now decorated the entire top floor and 1/2 the middle floor hallway. The ceilings have had two coats of paint and there was a lot of new plasterwork to sand and paint! I will try to finish off the walls tomorrow and then can start on the skirting boards and door frames before finally doing the ground floor. The its just the staircase and then we can steam clean all the carpets and arrange to get the new carpets fitted to the new staircase and bedroom. I can’t wait! I think I am nesting and on a mad drive to get it all finished and the house clean! !

I bought baby Wong a funky pair of jeans and top on Thursday to celebrate our 15 month LID. They were a bargain the jeans were from Primark! The top from Tesco but I did buy the sun hat from Next! Which cost nearly the same as the top and jeans combined!

Well the gossip is out that the referrals are in transit at a European agency and arriving with the US agencies. I guess we will just have to keep everything crossed that there are some expedited referrals this month. Hopefully we should hear on Monday! This is the third month we have been in this situation.

I am running my 1/2 marathon tomorrow so have just got everything ready as we need to leave the house at 07.00 am and I need a big breakfast before I go! I am only a skinny thing ( UK size 8-10; US size 4-6) so need to stock up on calories to run 13.1 miles!). I have to have a huge bowl of oatmeal followed by two large glasses of smoothies made with 2 bananas, ice cream, Greek yogurt and milk! Poor hubby has lactose intolerance so just has coffee and toast!

But the stress of the building work and waiting to see if we have a referral means I have a lot of pent up stress to run off tomorrow. I don’t expect to beat my personal best time; I just want to finish the course!
