I had to get rid of all the dust before I could finally start on my OHGW quilt. I have sewn 4 rows of 10 squares so far. Another 6 or 7 to go! Each square will have a whiter border surrounding it, and the back and edging will be in a rose pink. The reason for the white border is that some of the patterns are quite bold and bright and therefore it will show each fabric in more detail, without too much clashing. Also I have tried to keep each row the same or similar fabrics. Shown are two pink rows, a yellow row and purple row. I have another pink row, green row, red row, Asian print row, and some of mixed colours that are similar prints. Although each square was suppose to be 8X8, some were actually smaller than this so I had to re cut them all to 7 inches. The width of the quilt will be 90 inches and length 100 inches. It will be a huge and there is so much more sewing to do!
I didn't order enough fabric for the borders so I have now done a quick online order so that I can put the middle border strips in. I will finish all the rows first and then do this afterwards. Spring has finally returned. Yesterday Terry and I went for a 9 mile run. The weather was fantastic and its was so beautiful, we started in the docklands running along the Thames path and then cut to one of the canal paths. These go on for miles so it was great no traffic! not too many people! or white dogs!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm still a long way to go, but thought I had better get started. I have now sewn 8 rows together 80 aquares another 2 (20)to do and when the rest of the white background fabric arrives then to do the strips inbetween, and the outer border! So much sewing! But easier design than yours LOL
Wow! That is looking GREAT! And guess what? I see the square I sent you...unless you got duplicates of the kind of tie dyed / batik one.
