Diversional therapy

I keep keeping myself really busy and getting involved in different small projects to pass time and keep me off the Internet and from thinking too much about referrals and the adoption. My OHGW quilt is at the quilters but I have started sewing a quilt for the spare bedroom. Its a striped quilt of 5 coloured blocks! It sound hideous but I think will look nice, I will post a picture soon so can get the gist of the design . I am making the 5 colour blocks 5 inches big, on hindsight these should be larger as I need to sew 224 blocks! Ha, yes it will keep me busy. Today I only pieced 14, which I then joined as one row. Only another 15 rows to sew but I am in no rush. In the interim I decided to make a single bed heart block quilt so have got back into swapping with the Yahoo group to collect some fabrics. I organised the swap this week a 'pink swap' for 15 and it filled overnight. I am swapping 2 squares and wishes so here are the 28 squishes ready to be put into envelopes and taken to the post office sometime next week. Now if we do get referred a boy then baby Wong wont want a heart quilt so I will donate the squishes to an orphanage charity.

I have also heard from my book publishers and have a list of queries regarding the photographs and diagrams which will needed to be sorted this week so they can put the draft book together. There will be lots of queries for each chapter so that will keep me very busy but its moving forward and hopefully be will published later this year. Don't worry it wont be baby Wong's bedtime stories lol:). Can you imagine, once upon a time there was a hepatocyte?????

More kitty dramas, poor Dusty has started to loose his fur by the clump full. Hubby thought it was just summertime molting but I knew it was more serious and wondered it it was a stress response to the accident as poor Dusty was so traumatised and almost catatonics (no pun intended there!) . Well we took him to the vets again this morning and he agreed, he has a kitty form of stress alopecia. Its only the second case he has ever seen. He is developing a bold patch on one side and we don't know how severe this will become or how much hair loss he will have or even if it will ever grow back. Poor thing its even more obvious because he is black, poor thing.

And my two lovely kitties brought me in a live toad at 04.30! Thanks, I know you love me, but catching a slimy toad and putting it into a box to take back out into our garden is not my idea of fun!

My monthly socks swap arrived this morning. Thank you Sherri Anderson. I have posted a picture under the left hand link socks and bow swap.

Well I hope you are all enjoying this fantastic summer weather. I bought 5 punnets of beautiful strawberry's from our street market today, so summmer is officially here!. Fruit and veg are such good value and about 1/3 of supermarket costs. Tomorrow I am making strawberry jam! For us and for my MIL and SIL who always buy jam when they come back to the UK, as its hard to get and expensive in Hong Kong. I will either take it over if and when we travel to China ???? or my MIL can take it back to Hong Kong later this year when she comes over for her monthly summer visit!
