2 year review

We had a letter from our local authority today regarding our two year review. Yes in July its two years since we went to the adoption panel and were approved to adopt a child from China.

And yes the fees have increased again! unless and there is always a catch, if we use the same sessional SW as last year. The drawback to save £100! This SW is retired and just does the occasional work, and did not do our original home study. Which was very lucky as she was argumentative the first time we spoke on the telephone!, and is very ignorant about China and IC adoption.

When she came around for the update last year, it luckily only lasted as long as it took her to drink her coffee as we had already filled in the questionnaire and nothing had changed. I think that we would of failed panel if we had her for our entire home study!

I so hoped that we would of had our referral for baby Wong and we would of missed this! But I am not going to fill in the questionnaire, request new CRB and medical forms until I know what is happening with the June referrals! Am I optimistic? No I honestly dont expect a referral this month but am just going to try to prolong it as 2 yrs is quite a depressing thought.

The good new for today is J has received her TA, and is finally on her way to China next week. They are of the first UK Hague adoptions ( we will also be under the new Hague rules!).

The second good news is that my hubby's sister and husband have emailed and asked if they can come and stay in August , and bring baby Wong's cousin Cassie! We have never met our new niece as they now live in Dubai, so it will be nice to catch up with them. They have stayed here before but this time can have an entire floor to themselves with their own bedroom and bathroom in the loft conversion! Guess we need to collect baby Wong's cot soon so poor Cassie will have something to sleep in!

Dusty the cat's hair loss seems to be stopping but he does have a massive bold patch poor thing! Its too early to know if it will ever grow back or not but we still adore him! I was really worried that the stress response would be so huge after his car accident he would loose all of his hair.

I have also posted a picture of baby Wong's 18 month LID present. I was very hot and sunny when I bought these, a paddling pool, arm bands, bathing suit and sun glasses. Hopefully baby Wong will be home soon, the sun will shine and baby Wong can be playing in the baby pool in the back garden!
