Keeping busy, distractional therapy!

Yes I really have had a busy week, lots of illustration/photograph queries for my book. Writing new documents/protocols, teaching and conference prep! And as you can see by the images more sewing! After my 100 GWQ I decided to make a more challenging quilt for one of our spare bedrooms! The room has apricot/peachy walls, cream curtains, bedding and carpets so the quilt is made up of 4 Batik fabrics and some left over white on cream from the 100GWQ. Each square is 5 inches after sewing and in rows of 14, and there will be 16 in length when completed. The picture shows it at 13 rows and only another 3 to put together before adding the borders and cutting the wadding down to size and the backing fabric. It keeps me off the Internet! And my mind of the adoption. Its not perfect, but I am happy with it its the hardest sewing project I have ever taken on! And needed so much fabric cutting and sewing!

We spend Saturday with Terrys father, step mother and brothers. We had a lovely dim sum! And then helped them choose their tiles for their bathrooms and new kitchen. Yep lots of remodelling going on! The kitchen and bathrooms are 20 yrs old so really need replacing. As we have renovated our house his father has asked us to help him at every step! In the tile shop there were 4 adults with different opinions. The poor sales guy! We had to order so many tiles as well! In true Chinese tradition my hubby starts negotiating a discount! He got £150 and free delivery. Last week at a factory outlet he haggled and got £50 off his suits! I am so used to it and let him get on with it now! As long as he doesnt try it in the supermarket!

We also took the kids to the Greenwich maritime museum which they loved as they have lots of childrens activities to do. But it was a long and tiring day!

Hubby is unwell with a cold, and today I went for a run by myself but only managed 8 KM, and have spent the day book editing. I am slowly getting through my backlog of emails so will hopefully catch up with the rest this week!

I recieved some more fabric swaps from the pink swap that I hosted. I also take part in a monthly cyber shower swap. My swap partner for the month emailed me to say she had posted it on the 8th had it arrived. Sadly no! I love these swaps and luckily this is the first item that has ever gone missing. Still fingers crossed it still might turn up!
