Where does the time go? Weekends always fly by in a whirl of activity.
On Saturday we finally had the carpets laid. Now we just need the bedroom furniture that has been delayed! But at least we can put some shelves up and get the study moved so we can convert the small bedroom to a nursery when we get our referral.
We also had more family visiting from overseas. Terry's Auntie ( Dads Sister) was over from Singapore. So we all went over to her London home for dinner. It was a wide range of Singaporean food and was so delicious. In case you haven't noticed most Chinese socialising happens over food! The Wongs never stop eating, and really enjoy their food!
Today we went to watch the London Marathon. Its an amazing sight, But its strange watching it after running last year, its surprising what you miss being in the mass!. We went to the 18 mile mark and saw the elite men, before the first trickle of club runners and then the fun/charity runners. They elite men sprinted past! Its incredible they just run so fast for such a long distance! The winning male finished the course in 2 hrs 5 minutes. Considering we run a 1/2 marathon in 2 hours 1 minute! That's nearly twice my running speed, nor can I blame it on age! As there were some pretty speedy older runners!
Terry actually had a ballot place to run this year again, but deferred in case we had to travel to China ( we didn't expect the CCAA to skip heritage applicants for 4 months in a row!). I should also get a ballot place next year as I have been rejected in the public ballot so many times! Last year I ran for a charity. I am not sure how we are going to fit the training around baby Wong, but I am sure we will manage and baby Wong will be getting lots of fresh air, we just need a robust stroller!
Finally the front of the quilt has been pieced together! I just need to trim away any remaining loose threads, check the seams are all secure and then iron and pack it away to send to the quilters! Yes!) I will complete this next weekend, and post it on the Monday as the quilter is away until the 20th.
It is far from perfect, but its been a labour of love, and is made with 90 good wishes from friends, family and the adoption community.
10 days until we are off to Italy. I cant wait for some Italian sunshine, fantastic food and shopping. Oops I suppose I should say a good conference!
