This has been a labour of love to make a cot quilt. The only sewing I have done to this since leaving school is curtains. i.e sewing in straight lines!
One I pieced the front together, I then had to sandwich a layer of quilt wadding between the quilt front or back. I have sewn between the large squares so at the back you have large square quilting. And on the cream squares I have sewn different shapes. These include fish, turtles, letters of the alphabet, numbers, butterfly, hearts, moon and stars. That was the tricky part! Around the cream edging I have sewn a cable type border ( I used a stencil!) which isn't very clear on the pictures. It then is finished with a cream ribbon binding around the quilt edges!
Now I just need to wash it, as you can see, the kitties loved it and it has a few muddy paw prints.
I will make a pillow case this weekend and then the cot bedding is then complete!
Next project the one hundred good wished full size quilt! But not for a few months!
