11.2 mile run!!!!

Today is such a beautiful sunny spring day! Hubby and I decided to go for our weekend run, we left home and ran through Depford and then onto the Thames path, over Tower Bridge (always love to do that) and then over to the docklands to Island gardens, where we walked back to Greenwich through the foot tunnel under the Thames. A total of 11.2 miles!!!! Yes it killed me ( well only the last mile!), but I am so pleased. We are running a 1/2 marathon in 3 weeks and so need to build up my distances! I also managed a 3 mile run on Thursday so have run 14.2 miles in total this week. I will aim for 12 miles next weekend and then 13 the following, then I know that I will be able to run the 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles) without any problems.

This time last year we were training for the London marathon and I was running about 16-18 miles on my long runs, and about 20-30 miles a week! So whilst 11.2 miles sounds impressive it is pitiful compared to last year! But exercise does lift me and helps chase away those post referral date blues! And is so nice to run along with hubby and spend time just chatting away!

My Aunty has a house in Rotherhithe. It overlooks Tower Bridge and I used to love visiting her house. They now live in Kent and live off the rent from the house.I guess its worth millions now?
They bought it for £80,000 back in the eighties!
