We have just had the usual busy weekend. On Saturday we met up with my FIL and Terry’s two 1/2 brothers. We started the day by having a massive dim sum at our favourite Chinese restaurant.
As we helped them design their new kitchen which our builder is fitting, we then took them to choose the cooker, fridge and cooker hood. We are lucky our builder has shown us the cheapest places around. For example the fridge that my FIL choose is nearly £300 ($600) cheaper from the store we took him to than a large chain store! He was very pleased!
We then went back to our house so his dad could see the loft conversion. Last time he came we still had to access it by a ladder and the walls were just timber frames. Now it’s finished, and the staircase fitted he could seen the final result. He was very impressed. It so nice to have a three storey house. It feels like it’s always been this spacious! As our house is Victorian is also has really high ceilings and massive rooms so we are lucky. Plus we have most of the original features.
Later on in the day, we cooked them all a nice 'English' roast beef and all the trimmings. After our large dim sum we were all so full, but still managed to eat everything! But everyone was very happy. Even the kittens had fun as the boys kept feeding them ham! We later realised that they had fed the greedy cats an entire packet! No wonder they turned their nose up at cat food later on! They eventually left about 8 pm and we then had to start the decorating again.
Today the weather was so beautiful. A really warm, sunny spring day. We went for a 6 mile run in just shorts and T shirts! We just did a short run to rest for the 1/2 marathon next week and so just ran 6 miles. But did it fairly fast is 52 minutes. We took the DLR to the Cutty Sark and then ran along the Thames path past the Dome ( now the O2 music centre) and back.
Then it’s just been an afternoon of sanding, and painting! The top floor is now finished and today we started on the middle floor hallway. The ceiling is 1/2 painted (ran out of paint!). And we will try to get the middle floor finished this week so we can just paint the hallway ground floor next week and then put everything away, clean and get the new carpets put down!
Now I need to finish a commissioned journal article which is due in this week. It’s nearly written so I should finish it tonight and do the final editing during the week and email it off for review! If it’s published it will be my 10th nursing journal article.

Pam
Hi Pam
I have published in several journals.
Intensive and critical care nursing
Nursing Standard
British Journal of Nursing
British Journal of Neuroscience nursing
Critical Care Nursing
The articles are all primarily related to liver disease or research in liver diseases.
They are all UK nursing journals.
That is awesome. I was curious how you became so interested in liver disease? You do not have answer, if this is to invasive. I have worked in ortho, neuro and ED. At the present, I am in Clinical Informatics.
