You are so probably sick and tired of me going on about my book and all the editing I have been doing. Believe me; I am so so tired as well. The picture if of the 488 page paper copy! ( 105,000 words for book 7,000 words for the tables, figures and pictures!)
This has been an 18 months project of 'love'. I was approached two years ago by a ‘huge academic’ book company to edit and produce a nursing liver textbook. Sound easy?! Well I thought so! (ignorance is bliss!). There is no other book like in the worldwide market! After putting together a quick proposal and finding some people willing to contribute to writing specific chapters it is finally completed!
My deadline is March 1st 2008 so yes it’s cutting it fine, but I was waiting for the final chapter to arrive. Well the completed version still did not arrive, which resulted in me having to write 1/2 of it which took ages ( 4 days) . It would have been easier and quicker to write it from the start. This has been a steep learning curve! I have written 3 of the 18 chapters, so doing the extra one would not of been to arduous. Next step is to photocopy all the permission letters/emails for the pictures/figures/tables that I have requested to use from other books and to send these and the CD off to the publisher!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The provisional title of the 18 chapter masterpiece (Yes ok!) Is Essential management of adult liver diseases for nurses and allied health care professionals By Suzanne Sargent!!!!!!! OK it won’t be a best seller like Dan Brown but it is the only book of its kind worldwide! And will hopefully be available in print sometime this year. So reserve your copies on Amazon soon! (Great for insomnia!).
Also the scaffolding went down today, and we decorated the attic bedroom and made a start on the hallway (the 3rd floor part! Lots of climbing ladders ( me!). It looks really nice but still so much more sanding, filling and painting to do! I can’t wait for that to be finished as well!
I am not going to know what to do with my free time now! I do have a journal article to produce by the end of Feb (nearly finished!), and then I will have lots of time for hubby and for baby Wong. What perfect time for our referral ( Hint hint CCAA!).

Congrats on completing the book! I am so impressed! And now that your scaffolding is down... referrals can commence! (Our contractor will be with us for quite a while now. Maxine will have to call him Uncle Contractor. ; ))

CONGRATS!!!
I am still begining to think that instead of a cuddly toy or comforter baby Wong will have to make do with a paintbrush! Decorating and working full time are not really compatable!
